I am particularly glad with how the sky turned out. It’s the falling sherubim that’s proving a tough nut to crack.

This is a fanart piece of one of my favourite characters of the deservingly famous A Song of Ice and Fire saga.

If you think she’s ugly, you haven’t read the books. Brienne is described as way too tall and big (big as in “muscled”, not as in “fat”, she is lacking in the bosom department), with rough features, hideous lips that look almost swelling, a nose that’s been broken a few times, covered in freckles and with the kind of blond hair that looks like dirty straw instead of gold wires. Her only beauty are her big, blue eyes.

So, yes, I made her far prettier than she should be. It was done on purpose. First of all, I love the character. Second, I try to look at people in the eye as much as possible, and I think that someone with huge blue innocent eyes must have some physical charm. You can’t have lovely eyes and be that ugly.

This, as everything else, is sooooo registered.

This is an illustration for a tale called The Hunter, and it is a depiction of Goddess Artemis. I have to detail it a little bit more, but so far I’m pretty proud of it.

This is the black and white version of this picture, for publication. I also altered the goddess’ eyes to match the author’s description:

I very much like the warm feeling of this image, specially the serene expression on the pregnant woman’s face. She is also sexier than most Avians due to her pregnancy. Avians are generally very svelte, because they have a spartan diet very low in fat, and spend a great amout of energy flying. Besides, huge breasts or any type or body fat would hinder their flying ability. So, this Avian woman looks both serene and sexy, and that is why she stands out as specially beautiful. I have always imagined a radiant mother like this.

This book is going to be amazing when I manage to finish all 104 illustrations. But then I’ll have to translate it into English, all 250 text pages. Because I love challenges:
